The Federal Housing Administration, generally known as "FHA", provides mortgage insurance on loans made by FHA-approved lenders throughout the United States and its territories. FHA insures mortgages on single family and multifamily homes including manufactured homes and hospitals. It is the largest insurer of mortgages in the world, insuring over 34 million properties since its inception in 1934.

The Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM) is federally recognized, and can be applied to most home mortgages. EEMs provide the borrower with benefits when purchasing an energy efficient home, or one which can become efficient through the installation of energy saving improvements.

203(k) rehab mortgage insurance allows homebuyers and homeowners to finance both the purchase (or refinancing) of a house and the cost of its rehabilitation through a single mortgage or to finance the rehabilitation of their existing home.

Title I Property Improvement Loans allow the borrow to make improvements which substantially protect or improve the basic livability or utility of the property.  These loans may be used in conjunction with a 203(k) Rehabilitation Mortgage.

Growing in popularity with seniors, reverse mortgages help seniors who have equity in their home and want to supplement income. The Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM) is the only reverser mortgage insured by the U.S. Federal Government and is only available through an FHA-approved lender.
